Protect Your Hair From Hot Tools

When it comes to beauty products, curling irons and flat irons are all considered hot tools. Though these tools help finish a look, they also can severely damage your hair from the intense heat, particularly when used every day. Since you cannot just skip using a beauty tool to defend your hair, there are products and methods you can apply to stop damage to your hair follicles from heat damage.
One mistake that several women make is styling their hair while it is still damp. Not only can this cause damage to your hair, but it can damage your styling tool as well. Unless you have a wet-to-dry ceramic tool, you should always blow your hair dry before styling.
Wet and dry hair is both affected by iron heat. Dry hair cracks along the edge of the cuticle, which causes frayed edges and frizz. Wet hair will burst from the excess steam, which causes buckling within the cuticle and further frizz damage. Prevention starts in the shower with a conditioner that adds excess moisture and protects against extensive heat.
